talentsforever.com changelog

What the upstream talent data maintainers changed, in their words.

  • 2026-09-14 Starshards and Elune's Grace out of the Priest spellbook

Both are Night Elf racials and were only in the book because the Priest we read was a Night Elf. They stay under Priest racials with every race's pair. A Discord reader caught it.

  • 2026-09-14 Spellbook tooltips now compare to Classic

Every spell read off footage says Same as Classic, New in Forever, or Changed from Classic with the exact words highlighted, plus the old cost or cooldown line when that moved. 108 spells changed, 71 match, 50 are new. Spells still on Classic text keep saying so until they get read in beta. A Discord reader asked for this one.

  • 2026-09-14 Thick Hide rank 2 read off footage

A reader sent a Feral Druid video with a point in Thick Hide: rank 2 is 2 Armor per level and 1.33 per defense point, so the site now shows the real text there and 3 and 2 at rank 3. If your copy still says 1 Armor at every rank, that's an older cached build; reload the page.

  • 2026-09-14 Hunter traps: the out-of-combat line is gone

A reader noticed our trap tooltips never say traps must be placed out of combat. That's not us trimming: all three Hunter spellbooks we read (Savix, Xaryu, Soda) drop that Classic line, and the one-trap rule now reads one Fire trap or one Frost trap. Cooldown is 30 sec instead of 15. Added a note on the Hunter spellbook page; whether it actually works mid-fight is untested until beta.

  • 2026-09-14 Tactical Mastery keeps 10 Rage; Mocking Blow still needs Battle Stance

A reader watched Soda's Warrior deep dive: the baseline Tactical Mastery passive reads 10 Rage kept through a stance change, not the 5 we had from Classic, and the Arms talent adds up to 15 more at 5/5 (that rank 5 text is now read verbatim instead of estimated). Mocking Blow's tooltip shows Requires Battle Stance, which the Classic import had dropped. Both tooltips are on the Warrior spellbook page now.

  • 2026-09-14 Human Sword Specialization counts auto attacks

A reader checked Soda's Warrior video: the racial reads 'all spells and attacks', not spells and abilities, so white hits get the 2% crit too. Fixed the wording. Also the line under the logo now follows the class you pick instead of the one the page opened on, and the Druid spellbook notes explain why Hurricane isn't in a level 38 book.

  • 2026-09-14 Priest racials filled in

A reader pointed at Warcraft Tavern's demo-floor screenshots of all twelve Priest racials. Human Feedback and Undead Touch of Weakness were missing, and the Dwarf and Gnome entries had no numbers. All in now with rank 1 mana, cooldowns and values, alongside the level 38 ranks we already had.

  • 2026-09-14 Puncturing Wounds ranks 2 and 3 fixed, and a smarter estimator

A reader noticed Puncturing Wounds kept 10% and 5% crit at every rank. Our rank estimator only scaled the combo point chance. Fixed, and the same mistake was caught on Natural Reaction, Serrated Blades, Resourcefulness, Aftermath, Winter's Chill and a few others. Estimates now round the way Classic does (17/33/50 instead of 17/34/51), fill in between two read ranks instead of stretching one, and no longer cap Predatory Strikes at 100%. Estimated ranks are still marked Estimated.

  • 2026-09-14 Windfury Weapon, read off a reader's screenshot

Rank 1: 20% chance of 2 extra attacks with 103 attack power, 60 minutes, and it turns off your own Windfury Totem benefit when it's on your main hand. Flametongue Weapon has the same line about Flametongue Totem. Whether a weapon imbue stacks with a different totem is an open question.

  • 2026-09-14 Totemic Projection is ground-targeted

A reader pointed at Guzu's stream: Totemic Projection puts a green circle on the ground and your totems move there, up to 30 yd away, not to your feet. The Shaman abilities card said the opposite. Fixed. The same footage shows Ghost Wolf instant on Guzu, who had Improved Ghost Wolf 2/2, which is what the spellbook already says.

  • 2026-09-14 Compare to Classic shows the Classic text again

A reader noticed the Classic text had gone missing from compare tooltips. Tonight's confirmed-rank data stored some talents differently and the compare block was reading the wrong rank. Fixed: Classic and Forever side by side again, with the changes highlighted, on desktop and in the phone sheet. Also on phones, spellbook tooltips now open as a sheet at the bottom of the screen instead of getting cut off inside the book. And the raw data now carries a CC BY 4.0 licence: use it however you like, credit talentsforever.com with a link.

  • 2026-09-13 Theorycraft with an AI

New Theorycraft row under the trees. Copy build for AI puts your build on the clipboard with the full tooltip text of every talent you picked, so you can paste it into Claude or whatever you use and ask what to change. Next to it, Class data gives you that class as plain JSON (talents at every rank, spellbook, tooltips, racials) and All data is the whole site in one file at talentsforever.com/data.json. A reader pointed out that hover text is invisible to an LLM, which is fair.

  • 2026-09-13 Pages turn

Paging through a spellbook on a desktop now turns the leaf over the spine, with the next page printed on its back, instead of the old fade. Phones keep the quicker flip. The green line under a tooltip now says outright that the text was read off BlizzCon demo footage.

  • 2026-09-13 174 real spell tooltips

Went back through every spellbook page Soda, Savix and Xaryu opened on stream and read the tooltips off the footage. 174 spells now show the real Forever text in green instead of the Classic fallback, across all nine classes: every Paladin seal and blessing, the Shaman totems and shocks, Druid forms and cat and bear abilities, the Rogue openers and finishers, Hunter traps and aspects, Mage armors and wards, Warlock curses and stones, Priest heals and shadow spells. Notable reads: Slam has a 15 sec cooldown, Multi-Shot shares its cooldown with Aimed Shot, Frost Trap slows 60%, Eviscerate scales with Attack Power, Blessing of Protection and Divine Shield apply Forbearance, Blind is 30 energy on 5 min, and Skysight and Read Ley Line last 15 min when you find a convergence or ley line. Damage numbers include whatever gear and talents that streamer had, and the source line under each tooltip says whose character it was. Racial cards got the same treatment.

  • 2026-09-13 Spellbook tooltips

Hover a spell in any spellbook (tap on a phone) and you get its tooltip. Where we have read the real thing off demo footage it says so in green. Everywhere else it shows the Classic text and says plainly that Forever may differ. A reader asked for this an hour ago.

  • 2026-09-13 Real max-rank numbers from Soda's stream

Soda spent his talent points before hovering, so his tooltips show the real text at the ranks he bought. Thirty-odd talents across all nine classes now carry the actual rank text instead of our estimate: Furor, Heart of the Wild, Hack and Slash, Dual Wield Specialization, Maelstrom Weapon, Renewed Hope, Shadow and Flame, Improved Blizzard and more. Where a rank is still estimated the tooltip still says so. Also new: the Hunter Pet tab and the Warlock Destruction and Pet tabs in the spellbooks, and Bountiful Harvest in the Professions Legacy tree.

  • 2026-09-13 Sanctified Judgement, Dwarf and Undead racials

Sanctified Judgement now scales both numbers: rank 3 is a 100% chance to return 60% of the mana, read straight off a rank 3 of 3 tooltip on Savix's stream after a reader flagged it. Dwarf and Undead racials rewritten from Blizzard's own Deep Dive slides: Stoneform is a 3 min cooldown with 10% less physical damage, Cannibalize ticks 7% health and mana every 2 sec, Touch of the Grave is a 5% chance capped at 5% of your health.

  • 2026-09-13 Shaman bolts are faster

Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning cast half a second faster than Classic before you spend a talent point, read from tooltips on Guzu's stream that a reader sent in. That is why Elemental Alacrity only trims 0.5 sec at 3 of 3: deep Elemental ends up right where Classic did. On the Shaman page under Abilities.

  • 2026-09-13 Paladin taunt, Legacy cap, dual spec

From the BlizzCon Deep Dive: Judgement no longer eats your seal and judging Seal of Fury taunts, so Paladins can tank for real. Legacy is 16 points per character at launch, 65 earnable. The talent window has a locked Secondary tab, so dual spec is coming. Furor now scales its energy line too, thanks to a reader.

  • 2026-09-13 Checked against the Deep Dive slides

Read Blizzard's Paladin talent slides from the panel at full size and compared all nineteen tooltips to ours. Wording matched on every one. One rank estimate was off: Shield Specialization now scales the absorb too, 30% at 3 of 3, as the slide shows.

  • 2026-09-13 Weaponmaster ranks

All three weapon lines now scale with rank, not just the sword one. A reader caught it. Still an estimate from the rank 1 tooltip until the beta.

  • 2026-09-13 Warrior Protection tab

The one spellbook tab we were missing. Read from a clip of Esfand's stream a reader sent in: Bloodrage, Shield Wall, Taunt, Sunder Armor and the rest. Overpower corrected to rank 2 while we were in there.

  • 2026-09-13 Troll Priest spells

Hex of Weakness and Shadowguard are confirmed for Troll Priests, read from demo spellbook tooltips a Reddit reader shared. Hex now cuts attack power instead of flat damage. Under Racials on the Priest page.

  • 2026-09-13 Spellbooks look like the real thing

The spellbook under each class is now a proper book: parchment pages, tabs down the side, real spell icons, and the page turns. Warlock also shows the level every rank is trained at, read from Crixx's stream at the Goldshire trainer. The other eight classes get their levels when the beta opens.

  • 2026-09-13 Rogue arrows

Four prerequisite arrows were missing in the Rogue trees: Deflection to Riposte, Precision to Dual Wield Specialization, Blade Flurry to Weapon Expertise, Dirty Deeds to Quietus. Confirmed on Xaryu's stream. Builds that skipped the prerequisite will need a point moved.

  • 2026-09-13 Tooltips on desktop

The tooltip now parks next to the talent instead of chasing your mouse. At the next rank, the numbers that change are picked out in white.

  • 2026-09-13 Your Reddit catches

Blade Flurry and Seal of Command are talents again, not baseline. Consecration and Blessing of Kings read as trainer spells in Compare to Classic instead of removed. Improved Expose Armor rank 2 confirmed from Soda's stream.

  • 2026-09-13 Spellbooks for all nine classes

Every trainer spell the level 38 demo characters had, read tab by tab from Savix's and Xaryu's streams. Under Racials.

  • 2026-09-13 Racials from footage

Night Elf Priest racials and Victory Rush confirmed. Elune's Grace changed. Everything cites the stream and timestamp it came from.

  • 2026-09-13 Save and share

My builds and Share sit under the trees now. Load a saved build from the toolbar. Copy a build as text. Shared links show the class icon.

  • 2026-09-12 Legacy perks

The three account-wide Legacy trees, collapsed under Racials.

  • 2026-09-12 Phones

Tap a talent to read it, tap again to add a point, hold to remove one.

  • 2026-09-12 Launched

All nine classes, read from the BlizzCon 2026 demo tooltips and checked frame by frame.
